A new law in Washington state permits drivers convicted of DUI to obtain their regain their license if they have an interlock device installed on their vehicle. For a first-time offense, DUI offenders will have the interlock device on their vehicle for a year. For three or more drunk driving offenses, a driver may have the interlock device installed for ten years. Officials believe this new law will reduce the number of drivers operating on a suspended license as well as the number of intoxicated drivers on the road.
