PITTSBURGH, PA- Allegheny County
The Allegheny County emergency rental relief program that has been providing rental and utility payment assistance to local residents will be ending this Sunday. The program, which was supported by Pittsburgh-area donations and federal funds, was designed to help support residents cope with the economic effects of the covid pandemic.
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, applications for the program had to be submitted in March of this year. Any application that hasn’t been processed and is not in mediation or an eviction proceeding will be deemed denied next week.
Eviction Lab statistics show that evictions in the Pittsburgh area have steadily trended upward since January of 2021.
